Mrs. Sharon Ruth Crandall Strock, 80, of Binghamton, NY, went home to be with the Lord on April 18, 2020. She passed in the presence and care of her loving family and friends. Sharon was born in 1939 in Johnson City, NY to her parents, Rev. Louis W. and Carrie Crandall. She graduated from Prairie Bible Institute in 1957 and continued her education at Baptist Bible Seminary in Johnson City, NY where she met her husband Frank. Sharon and Frank married in 1960 in Ames, NY. Frank’s Naval career took them to California and Puerto Rico, after which, they settled back in Binghamton in 1966. Sharon worked as a Nurse’s Aid for several years early in their marriage. As their family grew, she focused on raising and nurturing their four children. After retiring, Frank and Sharon served the Lord for five years as Associate Missionaries with New Tribes Mission, teaching at the missionary kids’ school in Chihuahua, MX. Through their time as missionaries, they gained the friendship and love of their missionary family. Since returning from Mexico, Sharon enjoyed spending time with family and friends across the United States and Mexico, especially their children and grandchildren. Sharon was passionately involved in their local church, Grace Baptist Church, where she served in various roles, including Sunday School teacher, AWANA leader, and choir member. She also enjoyed preparing and serving many meals for weddings, conferences, and other church gatherings. Sharon is survived by her husband, Frank; son, Brian Strock; daughter, Becky (Bill) Eighmie; son, Joel Strock; daughter, Joanne (David) Zillic; and grandchildren, Katia, Kristina, and Matthew; as well as many nieces and nephews.
