William “Ed” Stenson, 95 of Conklin went to be his Lord and Savior on June 12, 2023, surrounded by his family. Ed was born in Conklin to the late William and Charlotte Stenson. He spent his life in the Conklin area where he enjoyed being outdoors mowing his lawn and working on outdoor projects. Ed was a proud member of the United States Army where he served in Japan after World War II. He loved telling stories of his time in Japan and one of his favorites was how he made ice cream for the servicemen and commanding officers. Ed retired from I.B.M. of Endicott, NY after 33 years of service and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. Ed was a member of First Christian Church of Kirkwood where he was a deacon and Sunday School teacher for many years. For 35 plus years, Ed was a faithful attendee of the Little White Church in Conklin.
Ed is survived by his daughter, Susan and Richard Andrascik; his grandchildren, Brandon and Valerie Andrascik, and Kristin Andrascik; his great-grandchildren, Aria, Zachary, and Jacob; his brother in law, Dale and Sally Russell, and many nieces, nephews and friends.In addition to his parents, Ed was predeceased by his wife of 68 years, Betty Stenson, his siblings Majorie Russell, Doris Tyler and Robert Stenson.
A funeral service for Ed will take place at 11:00 am on Friday, June 16, 2023 at the DeMunn Funeral Home, 36 Conklin Ave Binghamton, NY 13903. with Pastor Bill Reed officiating. Burial will follow at Conklin Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ed's memory may be made to the Wounded Warriors Foundation.
