William Hoover, of Apalachin, New York passed away on January 2, 2025, in Binghamton, New York. William is predeceased by his beloved wife, Sheryl Hoover, as well as his parents Harold and Florence Hoover and brothers, Lee and Paul Hoover.
William’s legacy is carried on by his cherished daughters, Lorelei (Joshua) Hoover, Kristen (Herbin) Hoover, and Jennifer (Jonathan) Hart, as well as his adoring grandchildren and a great-grandchild. He will also be remembered fondly by his nieces and nephews, particularly James (Kimberly) Hoover, who held a special place in his heart.
William was a Vestal High School Graduate. After high school, William earned his bachelor's degree at Binghamton University and was known for his keen intellect and problem-solving skills. In addition to his technical achievements, he was an Eagle Scout, exemplifying the commitment to service and leadership instilled in him during his youth. A proud veteran of the United States Navy, William dedicated much of his professional life to the field of computer programming, working for both IBM and Telus.
Outside of his professional endeavors, William found great joy in the natural world, often spending his time hunting and fishing in the great outdoors. His love for nature was a defining aspect of his life, reflecting his adventurous spirit and appreciation for life's simple pleasures.
In honoring his memory, services will be private, allowing family and friends to reflect on the rich tapestry of his life.
William Hoover will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on through the lives he touched and the memories created throughout his journey.
