Our beloved father, Wilbur R. Dodge, of Binghamton, passed away peacefully Monday, November 20, 2017. He was predeceased by parents, Smith C. Dodge, Geraldine Bowen Dodge and Helen Hale Dodge, son Edwin Burch, granddaughter Katherine Verdon, great-grandson Jacob Nolan, and great- granddaughter Danielle Verdon. He is survived by his beloved partner Anneliese Heurich, children; Glenn Burch (Bellefonte, PA), Michael and Tammy Burch (Deland, Florida), Barbara Burch (Paisley, Florida) and Laura Appleton (Binghamton); grandchildren, Rebecca Nolan, Tera and Michael Hudgens, Michael and Alicia Burch, Heather Burch all of Deland, Florida and Yvonne Appleton of Binghamton; great-grandson Edwin Burch of Deland, Florida and several great, great-grandchildren. He leaves behind sisters Barbara Dodge Lake (Binghamton) and Caroline Dodge Fisher (Westford, Massachusetts); and brothers, David Dodge (Clayton), Peter and Bernadette Dodge (Ithaca) and many nieces and nephews.He graduated from Clarkson University and Harpur College with degrees in electrical engineering and physics and followed in his father's footsteps working at Ansco. He, with friend Norman Smith, started their company, R D & D before he moved on to Link Aviation where he worked on the Gemini and Apollo missions. He held titles in the many organizations he served including The Blind Work Association, AVRE, The Lions Club, Valley Industrial Credit Union, American Guild of Organists, Binghamton Classic Films, Roberson Folkdance, English Country Dance and Contra Dance groups, was a member of the choir and guest organist for various churches in the community including Trinity Memorial and Christ Churches. He was an avid photographer and vintage and antique camera collector stemming from his early career at Ansco. His encore career was maintaining and tuning pipe organs in churches throughout the regionThere will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 11 am to 3pm at Christ Episcopal Church on 10 Henry St. Binghamton.
