Beloved husband, father, brother and uncle, Watrous “Watty” Polhamus, Jr. passed away January 1, 2021. Watty will be remembered for his infectious smile, his love of family, and dedication to his friends. He was a man of his word, always keeping his promises except one, Disney World with Rainey and Amy. To Lorraine, he was her everything. To Amy, her hero. Watty courageously faced any challenge thrown his way like it was “ just another walk in the park”. He loved all of his animals equally. During his lifetime he was an avid bowler and golfer (maybe not so much golf, he always found the water). He devoted himself endlessly to his much-loved Town of Binghamton Fire Department which he never ever stopped talking about. He was predeceased by his parents, Watrous and Mary Polhamus, Sr., in-laws, Roderick and Shirley Clark, brother-in-law Rick French. Watty is survived by his wife of 33 years, Lorraine, daughter Amy Lynn Polhamus and daughter-in-law, Melissa Korosec, Endicott, siblings, Sharon and Ron Quackenbush, Cathy French, Thomas and Kathy Polhamus, Kevin Polhamus and Yvonne Pratt, Jim and Sherri Figura, brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Denny and Jeannine Miller and Ivan and Patricia Clark. He leaves behind aunt Helen Polhamus and uncles, Richard and Becky Polhamus, Donny and Susan Polhamus and a large extended family. He will be missed by his brothers and sisters of the Town of Binghamton Volunteer Fire Department Company 58. Funeral services will be private. There will be a celebration of Watty’s life at a later date which will be announced. Please consider becoming an organ donor as Watty enjoyed many happy years with the gift of life he received.
