Walter Andrew Hawley Sr

Walter Andrew Hawley Sr, 63, of Tioga County, was born on July 18, 1961. After a hard-fought battle with stage 4 lung cancer and pneumonia he passed away on January 31, 2025. He was predeceased by his parents Roger and Elizabeth Hawley.

Walter is survived by his beloved family; children Walter (Sheri) Hawley Jr., Dennis Hawley, Brian (Lisa) Hawley and Joshua Hawley, his soulmate Tina Murphy,  sister Cindy (Joe) Neer, brothers Al (Joyce) Hawley, Hank ( Tammy) Hawley. Walter also leaves behind his former wife Cheryl Hawley, grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.

He worked many jobs during his life, the last one being with Lopke Stone. Walter was an excellent self-taught guitarist. Playing with many local bands throughout his life, including The Originals, The Grease Release, Rush Hour, to name a few.  He had excellent vocals and could sing wonderfully, like the performer he adorned Elvis.

His passing leaves behind a terrible hole in his family’s lives. He will be so terribly missed; words cannot express.
