Obituary

Listen to Obituary

Tyshawn Juwan Hickman, also known as "O2," was born on June 3, 1997, in Newark, New Jersey. At the age of 29, Tyshawn departed this life on August 8, 2026, leaving behind a love, laughter, and presence that will never be forgotten.

Tyshawn was the beloved son of Joseph Hickman and Mary Wright. He was also blessed to have people in his life who played an important role in raising, guiding, loving, and shaping the man he became. Marissa and Frankie Hubbert and Monique Dawson played a parental role in Tyshawn's life and were an important part of his upbringing. Their love, support, guidance, and presence helped shape his journey, and they will forever be a meaningful part of his story.

He leaves to cherish his memory his in-laws, Michael Cooper and Tayneal Camber; his siblings, Autumn Cole-Hickman, Messiah Cole-Hickman, Zion Hickman, Erleen Hickman, Damir Hickman, Bernice Wright, and Aryel Wright; and his nephew, Josiah Wright, along with many extended family members, friends, and loved ones whose lives he touched.

Tyshawn also leaves behind his beloved lifetime partner of 17 years, Erianna Cooper, who was not only his partner but his best friend, his safe place, and the love of his life. Their relationship was filled with love, friendship, laughter, arguments, growth, memories, and a bond that words cannot fully explain. For 17 years, they shared life together, growing together and creating a family and memories that will last forever.

Erianna was Tyshawn's person. No matter what anyone else may have thought or felt, Tyshawn knew who he loved. He loved Erianna more than anything, and there was no one else who could take her place in his heart. Their love was theirs, and the depth of the bond they shared could only truly be understood by the two of them. She knew the man behind "O2"-the loving, funny, stubborn, passionate, loyal, and sometimes hard-headed man that only those closest to him truly knew. She stood beside him through life's highs and lows, and he stood beside her. Their love, their memories, and the life they shared will remain forever.

His greatest role was being a father to his two children, Xariyah and Xavier. His children were a huge part of his heart and his life. To his son Xavier, affectionately known as his "Chicken Nugget Man," and Xariyah, lovingly known as "Mommy," he had a special love and bond that will forever remain. He was proud to be their father, and the memories, love, laughter, and moments they shared will live on through them.

Tyshawn loved his friends and family deeply, and some of his happiest moments were spent surrounded by the people he loved. He loved having fun, laughing, joking, debating, and making memories with the people closest to him. Whether they were gathered around a table playing card games, sitting together playing video games, or simply enjoying each other's company, Tyshawn knew how to turn an ordinary moment into a memory.

His brothers meant everything to him. The bond he shared with them was something special. He loved being around them, joking with them, arguing with them, competing with them, and creating memories that they will carry with them forever. His friends were just as important to him, and many of them became like family. Tyshawn loved his people and was ten toes down for the ones he cared about. He would show up, stand beside them, and make sure they knew they were never alone.

Tyshawn was a loving son, brother, father, partner, cousin, and friend. He was someone people could count on.

He loved enjoying life with the people who meant the most to him. He had a personality that could fill a room, and there was never a dull moment when O2 was around.

Although his life was far too short, Tyshawn left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. His laugh, jokes, debates, loyalty, and unforgettable personality made him truly one of one. To know him was to experience- his energy, he could make you laugh, get on your last nerve, and have you loving him five minutes later.

Visiting will be Friday August 14, 2026 at the United Presbyterian Church, 42 Chenango Street Binghamton, New York 13901 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Funeral Service will be Saturday August 15, 2026 at the United Presbyterian Church, 42 Chenango Street Binghamton, New York 13901 at 11:00 am.

There will never be another Tyshawn.

His love will continue through his children, his lifetime partner, his brothers, his family, and his friends. The memories, laughter, and love he shared will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew him.
