Theodore "Ted" Hartford

d. September 22, 2017

Theodore “Ted” R. Hartford, 82, left this world on Friday, September 22, 2017. Ted’s greatest achievement during his life was his large and loving family. He was proud of his children and grandchildren and wanted to see each of them succeed beyond the limits of the last generation. He taught them to “do their best and do what’s right”. Ted proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. After returning home from the Air Force he was a Supervisor at General Electric until his retirement. Ted was an outstanding blackjack player who knew blackjack was a skill, meant only as a sport for the best mathematicians. He was an avid outdoorsman throughout his life and loved to travel, recently adding the “Snow Bird to Florida” destination to his itinerary.     He is predeceased by his wife of 51 years Rosemarie, daughter, Deniese McAvoy, parents Walter Hartford and Gertrude Tobias and step-mother, Mildred Hartford. Ted is survived by his loving companion, June Satterly of Waverly, children; Kim and Ted Hull of Monte Sereno, California, Ted and Cindy Hartford of Vestal, Tom and Karen Hartford of McKinney, Texas, Lorraine and Kevin Ronk of Raleigh, North Carolina, Joy and Chuck Burr of Binghamton, treasured grandchildren, Alicia, Teddy, Courtney, Jacob, Halle, Nicole, Monika, Michael, Maresa and Charlie and great granddaughter, Paisley. He leaves behind beloved step father, Floyd and Vera Tobias, Sayre, Pennsylvania; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ann and Warren McGee, Elmira, Donna and Christopher Smith, sister-in-law, Veronica Sloat, Sebastian, Florida, several nieces, nephews and cousins.          Funeral services will be held 7:00 pm, Friday, September 29, 2017 at the DeMunn Funeral Home, 36 Conklin Avenue, Binghamton. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 on Friday evening at the funeral home.
