Stewart D. Fox, 82, of Kirkwood, New York passed away suddenly on April 12, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He is predeceased by his parents Ivan and Lena Fox, sister Esther Fox, brothers Charles (Lois) Fox, Boyd )Barbara) Fox, and Stephen "Pete" Fox, and parents-in-law Stanley and Norma Seymour.
He is survived by his devoted wife Sandra S. Fox, son Chris (Erin) Fox, daughter Melissa (Cory) Powers, grandchildren Landon Fox, Hudson Fox, Margaret Powers, and Harrison Powers, sister Patricia (Bruce) Grant, sister-in-law Gayle Rowe, brother-in-law Mark Seymour, dog companion Sara, and many nieces and nephews. Stu is also survived by neighbors and friends that he would look forward to making plans and spending time with.
A proud United States Navy Veteran, Stu served as a Radioman Second Class, stationed in Iceland at the height of the Cold War tensions during the Kennedy administration- a period that shaped his deep and enduring pride in his country. The skills he learned in the Navy translated into his lifelong hobby as an amateur electric radio operator using call signs WA2CRY, AA2BC and W2FO over course of his life.
Retiring as a Teamster in 2001, Stu successfully completed thirty years of service in the union trucking industry, a true accomplishment after deregulation. He cherished the camaraderie oh his fellow Teamsters and spending time with them.
Stu was one-of-a-kind. He took immense pride in his family and will be deeply missed.
A memorial service will be held Saturday May 9, 2026 at 12:00 pm at the DeMunn Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 36 Conklin Avenue Binghamton, New York 13903 with burial and military honors to follow.
