It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Song Nesterick on April 10, 2026. Born in Korea, Song was a beloved wife, cherished friend, and dedicated member of her community. She was predeceased by her husband, Alec, who departed in 1997. Their union, which began on June 24, 1969, in Korea, flourished over the years, and Song carried his memory in her heart.Song arrived in the United States on February 22, 1978, and proudly became a U.S. citizen on September 24, 1981. She leaves behind a legacy of love and connection, not only to her many relatives in Korea, including her parents, Hong Hae Wol and Kyong Nol, but also to her nieces, Sun Hee Park Chin and Yi Soon Park, living in New York City, and her nephew, Young Soon, residing in Birmingham, Alabama. Song's heart was equally devoted to her friends in the community, including Lucia Chope, Marge Bakalar, Liz Holowonitch, and Meavin Wilson, who will all miss her dearly.A devoted member of the Holy Spirit Byzantine Catholic Church in Binghamton, Song was baptized and christened on August 10, 1991. She was active in the church community, particularly enjoying her involvement with the Holy Spirit Mother Club, where she participated in various bread-making fundraisers and other events. She cherished her time with Father John and the parish members, offering her kindness and love to all around her.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Ernest H. Parsons Funeral Home now located at 36 Conklin Avenue, Binghamton, New York 13903. Burial will follow at Floral Park Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.As we gather to remember Song, let us celebrate her life and the joy she brought to those around her. She touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed, yet her spirit will live on in our hearts.
