Ruth Levine Abramson Ruth Levine Abramson, 93, died January 18,  2015 Evanston, Ill. Born in Binghamton New York, on January 2, 1922, the daughter of the late Ida Pierson Levene and Samuel D. Levene. Ruth was predeceased by her loving husband of over seventy years Herbert L. Abramson in April 2014. Ruth was a longtime resident of Binghamton. She married Herbert L. Abramson July 4, 1943. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Bachelor of Arts Degree, social work in 1943. Ruth was a teacher and an active leader and volunteer at Temple Israel and the Jewish Community Center. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and a good friend to many. She will be deeply missed. Surviving Ruth are her three children: Stephen (Sandra), Hal, and Judith (Ron Hershow), and her six grandchildren: Mitchell, Tracy, Todd, Elizabeth, Charles, and Rebecca. She was the Aunt of Kim Levene (Pepi), Jane Zuckerman (Mike), Susie Better (Joel), Karen Alimi (Zahir), and Anita Persoff. Funeral Services will be held at Ernest H. Parsons Funeral Home 71 Main Street, Binghamton, New York, on Thursday, January 22, with visitation starting at 9:00 a.m. and funeral services starting at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Westlawn Cemetery.
