Robert Mcpeak

d. December 25, 2020

Robert D. McPeak born August 1, 1940 lost his fight with congestive heart failure December 25, 2020. Born and raised in Wharton, New Jersey he lived there until moving to Binghamton with his family in the early 1970's. He was a proud veteran of the Navy and while working at several places during his career, he retired from SUNY Broome where he worked in the maintenance department as an electrician for over 10 years. He was an avid outdoors man enjoying hunting and fishing or just being out in the woods, especially with his friends the Willis'. He was predeceased by his wife Janet. Bob is survived by his children, David and Lisa McPeak and . Joseph and Krista McPeak, six treasured grandchildren, sister Evelyn Rice, sister in law Geraldine Underhill, sister in law Jean Straley and a large extended family. While he didn't have a lot of friends, the ones he did have were lifelong and meant the world to him. The stories he has of time spent with them are priceless and something he would talk about all the time. Bob’s sons will never forget the time they spent together either hunting on the Willis' farm, Greene Rod and Gun Club or spending time fishing together at trade winds pond. A trip wouldn't be complete without stopping for granola cookies on our way to Balsam pond to fish. They remember as a kids playing sports how he was always there for every game, he never missed one, home or away he was always there. He taught them so much by showing them how to be a good person, be kind and a giving person. He has taught them the work ethic they have today and to do your best no matter what it is. If you can fix it yourself do it and not to rely on other people when it is something you can do yourself. Bob’s family has never heard anyone say a bad thing about him and only hope that someday when it is their turn that someone can say all the good things about them that they have about him. At Bob’s request there will be no formal funeral services. To forward condolences please visit www.demunn.com. Arrangements for the family are directed by the DeMunn Funeral Home. Love you and will miss you every day.
