Robert May

Robert “Rob” May (aka Rob Sandell), 67, departed physical life on July 29, 2018 after a brief illness. Born in Denver, Colorado he lived most of his life in Binghamton and New York City.  Rob always had a gift and a love for the written word and used his skills at several NYC Law and publishing firms. But he is best remembered as a son and script writer, have studied writing with Jack Segal in LA and Sheila Davis in NY, both through the Songwriters Guild of America. He studied voice in NY and performed in several musical productions on and off Broadway and in New Jersey. He was predeceased by his parents, James and Lillian May and cousin Sandra Nanni. Rob is survived by his loving aunt, Isabella Ferenczi, Binghamton, several cousins and dear friend, Tom Phalen. Memorial services will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, August 11, 2018 at the DeMunn Funeral Home, 36 Conklin Avenue, Binghamton with the Reverend Luke Beattie officiating. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 am until the time of services.
