d. August 25, 2018

Binghamton- Beloved father, grandfather and farmer extraordinaire,  Ralph “Pops” Hogan, 83, passed away from what his family calls “a broken heart”, August 25, 2018. Dad lost the love of his life Rosie, on July 3, 2018 and never recovered. He led a full and busy life  which consisted of being a loving husband, father of 5, grandfather of 11. Dad could always be seen at one of his childrens or grandchildrens sporting events or on the farm tending to his “gals”. He never missed any family event. He had a great sense of humor and was a pracitical joker. Always quick witted with a reply to either a question or a statement with a “grandpaism” such as “Wheew”, “God, all Friday”, “Boy oh boy” or after a doctor’s appointment “He’s not worth a fart in a mitten”. Dad was an avid sports fan and could always be found watching the New York Yankees, Boston Celtics and New York Giants staying up till midnight with a late night snack and coffee. Dad retired after 35 years from NYSEG as a heavy equipment operator to doing daily chores at the farm. He never threw anything away and spent hours repairing everything with electrical tape or staples. He was involved in the Rockbottom Players and coaching youth sports. He was preceeded into heaven by his “Sweetheart” of 58 years,  Rosie, parents, Michael and Theresa Hogan, siblings, A. Marie Buckley, Paul Hogan,  Harold Hogan, and Agnes Gabriel. Ralph is survived by his loving children, Cindy and Ted Hartford, Vestal, Chris and Craig Wademan, Owego, Pat and Kari Hogan, Conklin, Dan and Shannon Hogan, Conklin and Kellie and Larry Wilson, Vestal, treasured grandchildren; Spencer Hogan, Christian Wilson, Emilie Hogan, Abby Hogan, Jordan Wilson and fiancé Hayden Coll, Natalie Hogan, Connor Wilson, Lindsay Wademan, Caiden Hogan, Brynn Hogan and Evan Wademan.
