Nancy F Depersis

October 15, 1931 — December 3, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Nancy Frances DePersis, who left this world on December 3, 2024. Born on October 15, 1931 in Binghamton, New York. Nancy lived a remarkable life filled with love and service to others.

Nancy is survived by her husband Ronald DePersis with whom she celebrated 68 wonderful years of marriage November 3, 2024. Together, they built a family anchored in love, resilience, and unwavering support. Nancy and Ronald's family includes six cherished children; Patricia and Fred Basmajian, William and Debbie DePersis, Noreen and Steve Karcher, Vincent and Michele DePersis, Brian and Maura DePersis and Marcia and Paul Engelhardt. She was also a proud grandmother to sixteen grandchildren and a great-grandmother to fourteen great-grandchildren. Nancy was predeceased by her parents Esther and William O'Neil.

Nancy was known for her warm spirit and caring nature, traits that shone brightly throughout her 50-plus years as a Registered Nurse at Binghamton General Hospital. Her commitment to the nursing profession extended well beyond her career, as she dedicated many hours volunteering at the hospital she loved. Her nurturing presence and expertise touched countless lives, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of her patients and their families.

In her free time, Nancy embraced her passions as an avid reader and a bird and nature enthusiast. She proudly rooted for her New York Mets, often engaging family and friends in spirited discussions about the game. Her joy in life was matched only by her tenacity, often reminding those around her with her famous words, "I'm fine."

Nancy's passing leaves a void in the lives of her close friends, including Eileen Tasber, Barbara Cribbs, Antoinette Fitzpatrick, Donna Karcher, Helen Cribbs, and many of her Thursday lunch companions. Her friendships, built on mutual love and respect, were a testament to the incredible woman she was.

As we gather to honor her memory, we will remember Nancy as the remarkable, stubborn nurse who took charge of her life and others' with grace and courage. Her legacy is one of compassion, love, and a determination to live life on her own terms. Nancy, you will be deeply missed, but your spirit and love will continue to guide us.

Family would like to thank the amazing staff of Guthrie Hospice for taking care of Nancy in her final days and to DeMunn Funeral Home for their loving care to the family.
