Beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, Mona Bohn, 55, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2017 surrounded by her family and friends. Mona was an exceptional wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. During her life, she befriended many people who will miss her deeply. She endured 23 years of kidney dialysis, while continuing to reach the goals she set for herself. Mona was the first in her family to receive a college degree. She participated in and organized countless community activities. She was predeceased by her mother, Monika Szwalla. Mona is survived by her devoted husband, Stanley Slick, children, Michael and Sarah Bohn, Binghamton, Christopher and Anndrea Bohn, Binghamton, stepson, Shawn Skellett, Binghamton; treasured grandchildren; Elizabeth and Alice. She leaves behind her father and “wicked stepmother”, Stephen Szwalla and Sharon Gilman, sister, Tina Lavoie, Binghamton, nephew, Tristan Lavoie, step brothers; Walter Tanner and James Tanner, special friends, Dolly Shaller, Sheree Serkiz and Tom Connell as well as Mona’s and Stan’s extended families. Memorial services will be held 5:00 pm, Sunday, April 30, 2017 at the DeMunn Funeral Home, 36 Conklin Avenue, Binghamton with the Reverend John Martinichio officiating. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 until 5:00 pm.
