Michael M. Quain, 82, went home to the Lord and Mother Mary on September 22, 2026. He was a loving, honest and witty person. Michael was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, who returned home to take care of this father and mother. Michael had a rewarding career with New York Telephone from which he retired early to raise his son. Quick to tell a joke, he possessed the Irish gift of gab. Fishing was a passion, as was telling stories (the one being about catching the biggest fish). Michael was married to the love of his life Dianne for fifty years. He enjoyed life outdoors riding his motorcycles and traveling to his favorite places especially Maine. He was devoted to his family and looked for opportunities to serve his community. Michael was a member of the American Legion Post 1645 and the Binghamton Rifle Club.

Michael was predeceased by his parents, Richard and Alfreda Quain. Michael is survived by his loving wife, Dianne, son; Jeffrey and Deirdre Quain; sisters, Marie Heger, Eileen and Jack Skutnik, Elizabeth and Edmund Krukowski; brother, John Quain; and treasured grand dogs, Argus and Kai. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins, who he loved.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm, Monday, September 28, 2026, at the DeMunn Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 36 Conklin Avenue, Binghamton. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 am until the time of services. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Michael's name may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the Broome County Humane Society, 167 Conklin Ave., Binghatmon, NY 13903.
