Michael Andre Camps, aka “Uncle Mike”, or Mike was born on March 15.1953 at Sydenham Hospital in Harlem, NY. On April 25th, 2019, Mike departed from this life and joined his parents the late Romeo and Geraldine Spencer. Mike was known for his great sense of humor and always being well kept Mike loved his family, although we were all miles apart, we spoke every week. He liked to cook and feed the neighborhood and if you called him in the evening, he would say he was about to fix his supper. Mike loved to fish, cook, and dance and in his hey-day he could do the hustle. He enjoyed reading the newspaper daily on his porch. In his past time, he would watch football, and basketball. He was still a die-hard New York fan of the Giants and the Knicks. Mike attended the NYC public school system and he graduated from Morris High School and continued his education at Middlebury College in Vermont. He was employed at Blue Cross/Blue Shield as a computer programmer for 18 years.In 1990 Mike moved to Binghamton, NY. He worked DSS for about 8 years and then was employed by Tri Cities Metal Finishing until his retirement. Mike was preceded in death by his brother Stanley and his niece Kemya. He is survived by his sisters Michelle, Linda, Yvonne, and sister/cousin Diane, brothers-in-law, Gregory and James; nephews Marquis, Stanley, Wayne and Amir; nieces Janelle, Ashley, Sameerah, Baseema and great-nieces Ciera and Mercedes and great nephews Marquis, Biggie(Shawn), Kayden, Kaleb and King. He leaves behind special friends George, Jean, Ron, Louis, Charmaine and Martha and a large extended family and many friends. Funeral services will be held 6:00 pm, Friday, May 3, 2019 at the DeMunn Funeral Home, 36 Conklin Avenue, Binghamton with the Reverend Gregory Penalver officiating.
