Merry "Chris" Gray, 76 of Johnson City, passed away peacefully in hospice at Robert Packer Hospital on Thursday April 2. She was born December 25th, 1949. Chris was predeceased by her parents John and Marian Lounsbery. Chris is survived by her two sons and daughter in laws, Chad (Ashley) Gray, Todd (Nikki) Gray and her nine grandchildren, Anna, Noah, Micah, Jonah, Tyler, Parker, Moriah, Isaiah and Delukah.

Chris spent 30 years as a dedicated LPN at Wilson Hospital in Johnson City, NY. Her compassion and commitment to helping others was a true show of her character. Chris was an avid bingo player, even if it was just for a quarter. She loved taking day trips to Tioga downs with her friends at Ideal Senior Living. Her absolute favorite was going on cruises with her friends and having the time of her life, including talking to a celebrity and her not even knowing who it was.

Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Any chance she could show them off and brag about them she would. Even when she would mix their names up. So many favorite memories; with Anna it was sleepovers and dinner trips to the Chinese buffet. Noah loved going to bingo with her and going to her camp to fish. Micah loved going to her house to learn how to cook and now he will carry on the traditions of her cooking. Especially oreo delight. Jonah loved going to Apple Hills to pick blueberries and playing bingo at camp. For Tyler it was their Saturday morning trips to Home Depot to build at the kids workshop. Parker loved playing games with her on the tablet and then laughing when he would have to teach her how to use it for the 100th time. For Moriah it was learning and spending time in the kitchen cooking and baking with her. Isaiah loved visiting her at Ideal and filling her pitcher up with ice. Delukah always loved sharing snacks with her.

Chris had a huge heart, a warmth to her, so much wit, full of sarcasm, an I don't care what you think attitude and gave the best hugs. Her ability to walk in a room and it would just come alive is unmatched.

Chris was born the same day as Jesus, and she passed just hours before Good Friday; a special calling, with death marking her "birth" into eternal life.

There will be no funeral service held at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later time for family and friends.
