Matthew Dols

Matthew Gregory Dols, 35, of Vestal, NY, passed away suddenly on Saturday, July 18, 2020. Matthew was born to Gregory and Laura Dols April 30, 1985, in Minneapolis, MN. Matt graduated from Mountain View High School in 2003. Matthew joined the Army shortly after high school and served a tour in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. In 2014, Matt met the love of his life, Natalie, and they were married in the foothills of the Superstition Mountains in Arizona. They resided in Chandler, AZ until 2017 and they moved to Friendsville, PA and later Vestal, NY. He had many passions, most notably was his love of drumming and playing music. He was an extremely gifted drummer. He also loved animals, hiking, camping, and greatly appreciated nature and the art of growing, receiving his Agriculture Certificate from Mesa Community College. He had a dream of one day owning his own apple orchard. Matt followed Jesus with his whole heart. He regarded playing music as his way of serving Jesus and sharing Him with others. Matt was an active member of the worship team at Central Christian Church in Mesa, AZ from 1993-2017 and later at Union Center Christian Church in Endicott, NY. He touched many lives through his musical gifts. Matt is survived by his wife Natalie, his daughter Livy, and their unborn child; parents Gregory and Laura Dols of Mesa, AZ; sister Carlene (Bennett) Fulton; grandfather Bernard Dols, grandmother Patricia Pierson; In-laws Rick and Sue Robinson; sister-in-law Hilary (Blair) Wilcox; grandmother Marge Robinson and special friend Pat. He is also survived by five nieces, one nephew, and several cousins. Matt was preceded in death by his grandfather, Gregory Pierson; grandmother, Beverly Dols; and cousins Luke Johnson and Jessica Johnson. A celebration of Matthew’s life will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Arrowhead Bible Camp, 112 Arrowhead Cottage Rd, #7703, Brackney PA 18812 with a reception following.
