Obituary

Listen to Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Maria "Mary" Carmela Pistoia who passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home on October 20th, 2026, surrounded by the warmth and comfort of the life Maria built and lifted to heaven by her Lord.

Maria is the daughter of the late Vincenzo Incutti and Angelina Lucia Incutti, born on August 11, 1946, in Roggiano Gravina, Italy. Maria was predeceased in death by her beloved brother Egidio and his wife Rosina Brunelli, Roggiano Gravina, Italy.

A long-time resident of Binghamton and a member of The Parishes of St. John and Andrew Catholic Church, Maria devoted her life to her family and community. Maria's greatest joy came from her role as a mother and grandmother/great grandmother.

She is survived by her nine loving children: Joseph, Steven, Anna, Michael, Gina (Paul), Laura (Jacob) and Veronica (Darren).

Maria was also the very proud grandmother (Nona) of 16 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Her grandchildren are, Lauren, Steven Jr., Daniel, Nicolas, Zachary, Isabella, Adam, Malissa, Arabella, Paul Gabriel, Christian, Clara, Samuel, Noela, Leland, and Jasper; each of whom brought immense happiness, pride, and she delighted in their accomplishments. Maria's great grandchildren Brooklyn, Claire, Jayce, and Josef will also inherit Maria's legacy of love, kindness, fortitude and strong family values which will persevere through all who knew and remain.

Lastly, Maria also leaves behind 2 younger devoted sisters and her late brother's children and their families. Maria loved and adored her sisters and brother's families in so many ways, delighting in the lives they built and their family's accomplishments. Maria's sisters Elvira (Franco) and Emilia (Gaetano) along with cousins and friends in the United States, Italy and abroad, share in our family's heartache. Maria's sister-in-law Maryanne Gallagher and family, along with many nieces and nephews, from that of her extended family, also share in our sorrows.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 o'clock am on the morning of October 3, 2026, at the Parishes of St. John and St. Andrew's Catholic Church, 1263 Vestal Ave. Binghamton. Interment will follow services in Glen Castle Rural Cemetery, 413 Castle Creek Road, Binghamton, NY 13901. Family will receive friends from 5:30 pm until 7:30 pm, Friday, October 29, 2026, at the DeMunn Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 36 Conklin Avenue, Binghamton.
