Margery Marie Rose Labombard Kocik

Margery Marie Rose Kocik née LaBombard, went to be in the arms of our Lord on December 25th, 2021. The daughter of the late Dellor and Florence LaBombard, she was born October 13th, 1930 in Ellenburg, New York. She graduated from Ellenburg Central High School in 1950. After high school she moved to Binghamton, New York to attend a vocational school where she studied to be an Operating Room Technician. She went on to work at Wilson Hospital in Johnson City, New York for over 20 years. She was united in holy matrimony to William E. Kocik on September 25th, 1954. She was blessed with four children and a nephew she raised as her own. William E. Kocik preceded her in death on March 12th, 2020. Margery had deep faith in god (a devout Christian) and served the Lord in many ways. Margery was a volunteer with pastoral care service at Lourdes Hospital, General Hospital, Willow Point and Susquehanna nursing home for many years. She was a member of the Rosary, Legion of Mary group, and the Fatima club at Saints John and Andrew church. Margery enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved to travel and dance with her husband, especially polka dancing. Never would a Sunday go by without her tuning into the Bill Flynn polka review. Margery was an avid game player and would never turn down a chance for a hand of rummy, her favorite, or a few pulls of a one-armed bandit. Margery was preceded in death by her parents Dellor and Florence LaBombard, husband William E. Kocik of 65 years, sister Ruby Gokey and brother-in-law Roland Gokey, brother Ernest LaBombard and sister-in-law Diane LaBombard, brother Leonard LaBombard and sister-in-law Virginia LaBombard, son-in-law Brian K. Gunther and infant son Stephen Kocik. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her family: son Michael E. Kocik and wife Debbie L. Kocik of Port Crane, NY, daughter Anne M. Kocik-Gunther of East Stroudsburg, PA, daughter Pamela J. Wright and husband Wyndle Wright of Argyle, TX, and son James E. Kocik and husband Dean Lamsa of Southborough, MA, nephew John F. Kocik and wife Amy L. Kocik of Harpursville, NY; three grandchildren Caitlyne J. Kocik, Victoria A. Gunther and Travis G. Wright; two godchildren Larry Gokey and David Lawrence; a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1:00 pm, Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Saints John and Andrew RC Church, 1263 Vestal Avenue, Binghamton by the Reverend Monsignor Michael T. Meagher. Entombment will follow services in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. Family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 12:30 pm, Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at the DeMunn Funeral Home, 36 Conklin Avenue, Binghamton.
