Lynndall “Lynn” Tompkins, 67, of Johnson City, passed away at home Friday April 19,2019 after a long struggle with COPD. Lynn was born on November 26, 1951 in Binghamton, New York. She graduated from Binghamton High School and married on the same day, June 27, 1970. She then started her family and spent most of her years caring for her special needs daughter Roxann. She worked in the fabric department at Philadelphia Sales then later in the mailroom at the Press and Sun Bulletin. Lynn loved to play SkipBo and Rummy and would challenge anyone who came to visit. She also enjoyed assembling jigsaw puzzles and you would usually find the latest project somewhere in the house. She would have everyone in the room laughing with her quirky sense of humor. Her generous nature and spunky personality endeared her to all who knew her. Lynn will be joining loved ones who passed before her, including her parents Arthur and Helen (Johnston) Black; nephew David Black and beloved cat Pocahontas. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Jennifer Tompkins and “son-in-law" Tim Chapman, son Michael L. Tompkins and "daughter-in-law", Rachelle Courtright, and daughter Roxann Tompkins, grandchildren Caitlin Tompkins, Michael T. Tompkins, Morgan Chapman and Margaret Tompkins; brother and sister-in law Rodney and Janice Black and their children Jessica and Lisa; sister and brother-in-law, Renee and Grady Granger along with their children Stephanie, Jacqueline and Lauren; sister and brother-in-law Kim and Ed Green along with their son Tim. She is also survived by her former husband Gerald Tompkins and “furry son” Stubby Cujo. Memorial Services for Lynn will be held 7:00 pm, Thursday April 25, 2019 at the DeMunn Funeral Home, 36 Conklin Avenue, Binghamton. Family will receive friends and acquaintances at the funeral home from 5:00 pm until the time of services.
