Linda Underwood

d. June 2, 2022

Linda Laraine Underwood went to be with the Lord Jesus on June 2, 2022. She was born on January 1, 1943 in Johnson City, New York. Linda was the oldest of four siblings, John, Steven and Luanna. She graduated from Vestal High School and Broome Community College. Linda was a loving wife of 58 years to her husband William Underwood. They had five children, Jimmy, Renee, Jeffrey, Billy and Betsy and also was blessed with 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Linda never missed a game or family event of any of her children and grandchildren; she found great joy in cooking for her family and friends. She was the heart and soul of her family. She worked for many years as a daycare provider and welcomed kids from all over the neighborhood. Linda also worked at Maine-Endwell and Binghamton schools as a teacher’s aide, helping kids in the computer room and teaching typing. She also worked at SUNY Binghamton as an admin secretary. Linda was involved in many community activities and volunteer organizations including ELOCA and Endwell United Methodist Church. Linda loved to travel and had adventures in Hawaii, Spain, Africa, Alaska, and the Virgin islands, but her favorite travels were probably in the Adirondacks camping with her family and climbing Mt Jo. Linda passed away at home with her family around her after a long battle with multiple system atrophy (MSA). Thank you for all the flowers and beautiful cards in memory of Linda. We are also grateful for the services provided by Lourdes Hospice their dedicated, kind providers were a blessing to me and my family during this difficult time. Mothers can never be replaced; she will be greatly missed….until we meet again. Memorial contributions in Linda's name can be made to the The MSA Coalition, 7918 Jones Branch Drive, Suite 300, McLean, VA 22102. To forward condolences please visit www.demunn.com. Arrangements for the family are directed by the DeMunn Funeral Home.
