It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Leo Green, affectionately known to alias "Greenie", who departed this life peacefully on July 1, 2025, at the age of eighty-nine after a lengthy illness
Born with a generous spirit and a heart full of laughter, Greenie was adored by many. He was a friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Known for his quick wit, easy smile, and unwavering loyalty, he had a rare gift for making people feel seen, heard, and loved. He was known for his intelligence and ability to conversate about any topic. Greenie was always the first to lend a hand, offer a word of encouragement, or share a story that lifted spirits. Whether he was cheering on his favorite team, sharing his love of politics and community, or simply enjoying time with family and friends, Greenie brought light and warmth to every room he entered
Greenie was predeceased by his mother Margaret Green, his longtime companion Shirley Taylor, and his grandson Larry Wimberly. He is survived by his daughter Davida Hughes Dadamio, great-grandson Bilal Kahn and his brother-in-law Lowell Taylor.
Greenie was a lifelong member of Laborers Local 785 as well as.lifetime construction worker throughout Binghamton, NY. He will be remembered fondly by a wide circle of friends and loved ones who will forever cherish the memories and moments shared with him. Though our hearts ache in his absence, we take comfort in knowing that his legacy of love, laughter, and compassion will live on in the lives he touched.
Rest easy, Greenie. You will be deeply missed, and forever remembered
