Leah Renee Guiles, age 12, passed away on September 25, 2026, after her courageous battle with complex medical conditions.

While Leah faced more in her twelve years than most people face in a lifetime, her illnesses never defined her. Leah was pure light and a true social butterfly. She had a beautiful smile that drew people to her and a giggle that could make anyone around her smile.

Leah was endlessly curious and inquisitive, always asking questions and eager to learn something new. Her thirst for knowledge was well beyond her years, as was the quick wit and her signature sass that accompanied it. She loved telling jokes and making people laugh, and she had a wonderful way of bringing joy to the people around her.

Leah loved all things girly, especially her lip gloss, eyebrow gel, and pretty dresses. She adored axolotls and loved her stuffed animals, often naming them after the people she loved. At twelve, she could be remarkably mature and brave while still being very much everyone's little girl.

Throughout the challenges she faced, Leah demonstrated extraordinary courage and strength. Even during difficult times, she remained concerned about the people she loved and continued to share her humor, affection, curiosity, and unmistakable personality with those around her.

Leah was deeply loved by her family and by the many people whose lives she touched. She leaves behind her loving and devoted father, David Guiles and Mackenzie Schofield; her mother, Amanda Gould; her sister Ryleigh Guiles and brother Ellis esczerba, grandparents, and other family members; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, friends, teachers, medical professionals, and others who came to know and love her.

Family and friends are invited to remember and celebrate Leah's life with a memorial service on Friday October 2, 2026, 6:30 pm at Living Hope Church 29 Grant Avenue Endicott, New York 13760. Visiting hours will be 3:30 until time of service.

Twelve years could never have been enough time with Leah. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, infectious giggle, endless curiosity, sense of humor, bravery, and the enormous amount of love she gave to the people around her. She was deeply loved, and she will be forever missed.
