Beloved husband and father, Joseph D. Tinklepaugh, Jr., 87, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, June 5, 2017. Joe proudly served his country in the Air Force during the Korean War. Upon his return from the service he was employed by Ansco/GAF for 44 years until his retirement. He was a devoted husband and hardworking man who always put his family first and enjoyed many a family vacation on the beach in Delaware. Joe was longtime member of Ross Memorial Presbyterian Church. He was an active member of the Johnson City Unity Lodge #970 F&AM, Otsinengo Consistory, York Rite Masons, Kalurah Shrine, Royal Order of the Jesters. His dedication to serving others was evident in the countless hours he devoted to these organization and the fact that he held most every leadership role. Joe was known as “Circus Joe” for bringing the Shrine Circus to the area and continuing its success for the past 37 years. Joe is survived by his wife of 66 years, Charlotte, children; CheriLyn and Dennis Dempsey, Thurman, NY, J. David and Christin Tinklepaugh, III, Binghamton, treasured grandchildren; Dennis Dempsey, Colleen Dempsey, Ashley Wetzel, Madison Wetzel, Alexander Wetzel and Ethan Wetzel. He leaves behind siblings, Edward and Joyce Tinklepaugh, Syracuse and John and Carol Tinklepaugh, Elkton, Maryland, Mary and Robert Nichol, Filion, Michigan, Lois Billot, Snover, Michigan, Virginia Tageson, Bad Axe, Michigan, Sharon and Grant Carmen, Sandusky, Michigan and a large extended family.Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm, Saturday, June 10, 2017 at the Kalurah Shrine, 625 Dickson Street, Endicott with the Reverend Michael Krembs officiating. Family will receive friends 4:00 until 7:00 pm, Friday, June 9, 2017 at the DeMunn Funeral Home, 36 Conklin Avenue, Binghamton. Masonic services will begin at 7:00 pm.
