John T. Monico

June 28, 1950 — January 7, 2024

John T. Monico, 73, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024 after a 40 year  battle with diabetes. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Angelo and Elizabeth Monico and John and Teresa Armstong, his loving parents MaryJo and John Monico, many aunts and uncles. John is survived by his sons, John Paul Monico, Kenny (Nichole) Monico and their mother, Kathy (Lester) Monico. Also surviving John are his three beautiful granddaughters, Drea, Lyla and Charlotte. He leaves behind his siblings, brothers Ed (Linda) Monico, Tom (Mary) Monico, sisters, Mary Therese (Larry) Ostanek, and Bette Anne (Jerry) Gaube, many nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.

John lived a wonderful childhood in Johnson City, New York surrounded by family and friends. He was a graduate of Catholic Central High School class of 1968. Always a bright mind, John loved technology and was gifted in electronics and could figure anything out.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 am, Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at Saint James Roman Catholic Church, 147 Main Street, Johnson City by brother/friend the Reverend Corey Van Kuren. John will be interred next to his parents following services in Calvary Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the church from 9:00 until 10:00 am prior to services.
