John S. Both passed away on June 21, 2026. He was born the son of John W and Gladys E (Sears) Both on August 18, 1948 in Mahopac, NY. He was a graduate of Arlington High School LaGrangeville, NY and Dutchess Community College Poughkeepsie, NY. On May 29, 1971 he married the love of his life Kathleen M (Fish) Both who predeceased him on March 6, 2026. John proudly served in the United States Navy for six years as ETR2. He was awarded the national defense service medal. During his service, he and Kathleen were redeployed to Athens, Greece for two years. He worked for IBM for thirty years and then retired in Binghamton, NY. He enjoyed camping, traveling and trying new breweries along the way. John is survived by his two children Stephen Both and Suzanne (Michael) Carmalitano. He had three grandchildren that he was very proud of; Troy Both, Jonathan Carmalitano and Nicholas Carmalitano.
