Beloved mother and cherished friend, Joanie Marie Healey, 85, of Conklin, New York, peacefully passed away on October 12, 2025, surrounded by love and warmth. Born on March 27, 1940, in Carbondale, Pennsylvania, Joanie spent her life embracing the joys of family, faith, and community.
Joanie is reunited in eternity with her devoted husband, Leo Healey Jr., who predeceased her after 55 wonderful years of marriage, and her loving parents, Joseph and Frances Passiment. Her spirit lives through her daughters, Linda King and Patricia Bauer, and her son-in-law, Mark Bauer. The laughter and love she imparted will be carried forward by her treasured grandchildren; Christopher, Julia, Audrey, and Joseph King, along with her great-grandchild, Vincent J. Montalvo, who filled her days with joy. She is also survived by her dear brother, Joseph Passiment Jr., and his wife Elissa as well as a loving extended family, including nieces and nephews, whose lives she touched in profound ways.
Joanie was a woman of unwavering faith, devoted to her Catholic beliefs and nurtured a deep relationship with the Lord. Her heartfelt prayers were a testament to her caring nature, as she always sought the well-being and happiness of those around her. For many years, she shared her angelic voice by singing in various choirs throughout Binghamton, bringing harmony and joy to countless congregations. In addition to her faith, Joanie was passionate about cooking and gardening, always ensuring that the wildlife surrounding her home felt as nourished as her family. Her kind heart and amazing spirit made her a beloved figure not just within her family, but within the community she served during her impressive career at UHS Binghamton General Hospital.A true communicator, Joanie embraced modern technology and loved texting, always reaching out to friends and family to share a quick hello or a loving message.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 16, 2025 at Sts. John and Andrew Church, 1263 Vestal Avenue Binghamton, New York with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Family will receive friends at DeMunn Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 36 Conklin Avenue Binghamton, New York 13903 on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM, where all who knew and loved her are invited to come and share in remembrances of her kind-hearted spirit.
