Joan M. Anderson

Joan M. Barber Anderson, 82, of Binghamton passed away June 19, 2022 six days after being in the indelible care at Mercy House. She has been battling an acrimonious cancer fight since 1998 and is now in the arms of her Lord. Joan was a stay at home mom until the kids went off to school and then worked for over twenty years at Blue Cross/ Blue Shield until she joined George in an early retirement. She had a great love for gardening and socializing with all of her friends and family. She was predeceased by her huband of 59 years, George in 2018, her parents Kenneth and Lillian Barber, brothers and sisters-in-law Robert and Carlita Barber and Richard and Joanne Barber. Joan is survived by her children Jeff Anderson, Scott and Lisa Anderson, treasured grandson Tyler and great granddaughter Charlotte. Joan’s family would like to express their thanks to the staff of Mercy House and Lourdes Hospice for their overwhelming support and care for both Joan and her family. Memorial services will be held 12:00 pm, June 23, 2022 at the DeMunn Funeral Home, 36 Conklin Avenue, Binghamton. Interment will follow services in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to services.
