  Jeremy Felix P. Ullmann, 37, of Somerville, MA, died in a tragic accident climbing Mt. Washington February 10, 2019. He is predeceased by his mother, Barbara Ullmann. He is survived by his loving and beautiful wife Kylie, their 3-year old son Oscar, his father Arieh Ullmann (Rhonda Levine), sister Rhoda Ullmann (Gosha Pikovsky) and several aunts, uncles and many cousins, nieces and nephews in addition to numerous friends. Born in Berlin, Germany Jeremy came to the US as an infant and grew up in Vestal. He graduated Hillel Academy of Broome County and Vestal High School. After his undergraduate studies in biology at Brandeis University he obtained a Ph.D., summa cum laude, in neuroscience at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia.  There he met his future wife Kylie O’Grady and established close relationships with her large loving family. Together Jeremy and Kylie developed a circle of dear friends. Jeremy was a creative and committed scientist who strove for discoveries that would help society. Already as a young and promising researcher he broke new pathways in brain mapping. Since returning with his family to the US three years ago he has been researching genetic causes of childhood epilepsy at the Boston Children’s Hospital. Jeremy was an avid sportsman. He played varsity soccer in high school and college, he was an excellent skier, traveled wide and far and loved to hike and camp even in the midst of winter. Jeremy had a kind and caring soul, he was extremely loyal to his family and friends, always ready to help with a friendly smile. He was a devoted and loving son, brother, husband and father. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Friday, February 15, at Beth David Synagogue, 39 Riverside Drive, Binghamton.   Shiva will be observed at the home of Arieh Ullmann from after the funeral until early Thursday morning.  Requested visiting hours are: Saturday night, February 16th: 7:00 – 9:00 pm, Sunday through Wednesday, February 17th -20th :  2:00 – 4:00 pm and 7:00 – 9:00 pm. Services during shiva will be held each night, Saturday – Wednesday, at 7:00 pm at the shiva home and morning services at Beth David Synagogue Sunday/Monday at 8:30am and Tuesday to Thursday at 7:00am.
