Jed James DeMarco of Binghamton

Jed James DeMarco, 61, of Binghamton, passed away on Saturday December 22nd at Mercy House. He was predeceased by his loving Mother Jean Eleanor Dunham, his Uncle Francis L. Dunham, both of Ithaca, NY, and Alvin H. Kent (Uncle Pete) of Washington, DC. Jed is survived by his loving Aunt Cecelia Dunham, of Ithaca, Uncle Milton Dunham, of Minneapolis, MN and Aunt Dorothy T. Kent, of Washington, DC. He is also survived by his brother and sister; Dino L. (Pamela) DeMarco, Julia Foster, niece Bambi Baleno and her daughters Sydney, and Kaydence, nephew Michael (Christie) DeMarco and their daughter Riley as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Jed graduated from Binghamton Central High School in 1976, he was a proud member of the Bulldogs as a football player, and received many honors as a track athlete as well, also went on to play football at Ithaca College for Coach Butterfield. Jed was a History Major who found his calling as a developmental disabilities specialist, helping those who could not help themselves. He was an employee of the Greater Binghamton Health Center, and later at Broome Developmental Center. He was widely respected in his community and will be sadly missed by all. Of his many interests, music and history would be at the top of his list, the holidays were especially fun when we would have conversations and Jed was always willing to lend his knowledge to help solve the debate! Jed's' will to survive was an absolute testimony to life itself. And for all those who were fortunate to have crossed his path in life, we are all better for it. GODSPEED.
