Janice L. Tucker

Beloved wife and mother, Janice L. Tucker, 60, passed away unexpectedly on August 9, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.  Even in her final moments she showed her strength and strong will, which will forever make her family smile, even during this devastating time.  After suffering a heart attack in 2020, she had been awaiting a heart transplant. In her final act of selflessness, she provided the gift of life to others through donation.

It’s incredibly difficult to sum up the impact and influence Janice had on those around her.  She leaves a huge hole in the hearts of her family and friends who were always entertained by her stories and witty sense of humor.  She had a contagious laugh, the most beautiful blue eyes and a smile that could brighten up any room. She was a great listener and somehow always knew what to say or how to make those closest to her feel loved. Janice was warmly referred to as “Mama Tuck” by many of her daughters friends since she treated them as her own.

Janice will be remembered by many in the community as the manager of the Travel Center at Boscov’s where she worked for more than thirty years. She later worked at Burr and Reid Law Offices.

She is predeceased by her father David J. Ell, Sr. She loved unconditionally and was the glue that held her family together. Janice was a extraordinary wife and best friend of 38 years to her husband, John.  She was the most wonderful mother to her daughters Meghan and husband David Ciocchi, Michelle Tucker and her significant other, Kyle McManamon, and the most incredible Mimi to her pride and joy - granddaughter Cora Louise Ciocchi. She leaves behind, her mother Jane M. Ell, siblings, Debra and Doug Lord, David J. and Colleen Ell, Jr., Douglas and Marla Ell, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Diane Tucker, Charles and Sue Tucker, Carol and Danny Boschetti, James Tucker and Cathy Lanyon, Joseph and Leila Tucker and a large extended family.

A Memorial Mass in celebration of Janice’s life will be held 12:00 noon, Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at Saint Mary’s RC Church, 975 US Route 11, Kirkwood.
