James M. Karns

Beloved husband and father, James “Jim” Karns, 85, passed away June 14, 2024. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. Jim was a loving family man, who also loved sports (bowling, golf). He was always busy, mowing, gardening, picking blueberries. Jim was never too busy to take his grandson to play golf. When he slowed down after retirement he spent many a day mowing the greens at Traditions at the Glen.  He enjoyed many a meal prepared by Lois or Keith, always the first at the dinner table with fork in hand.

He was predeceased by his parents Milton and May Karns and brother Roger Karns. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Lois, children; Keith and Michele Karns, Scott  and Simone Karns, treasured grandchildren; Maryis, Mason and Ruby. He leaves behind sisters, Nancy Karns, Bonnie Kelly and Barbara Simonson, sisters-in-law Nadine Karns, Dorothy Steere and Tressa Basa.

Memorial services will be held 12:00 pm, Saturday, June 22, 2024 at Conklin Forks Methodist Church, 4420 Brady Hills Road, Binghamton, NY 13903. Family will receive friends from 11:00 am until noon at the church. Please help Jim’s family honor his legacy by attending in your finest sports regalia.
