Bowell, James F. of Binghamton James F. Bowell, 73, passed away November 10, 2017. Jim proudly served his country as a member of the 3rd infantry during the Cold War in Germany. Upon returning from the service he worked at Marine Midland Bank and moved on to be a cost accountant for Ozalid for 25 years until his retirement.  He was a graduate of both SUNY Broome and Binghamton University.  Jim was a member of Trinity Memorial Episcopal Church, where he served on many committees and as a volunteer. He was a Past Master of Freedom Lodge F&AM of Thompson, Pa., a member of the Binghamton Valley of Scottish Rite Masons where he served as Treasurer for many years and was a recipient of the MSA Award in 1986. Jim was a member of the Kalurah Shrine and Commander of its’ Legion of Honor. His dedication to help others in need was demonstrated by the thousands of miles he drove to transport children to Shriners Hospitals for treatment. In 2017 he was named the Shriner of the Year. He was a member of the Masonic War Veterans Group and was a member of Otseningo Chapter OES where he served many times as Patron, was Grand Lecturer in 2001 and appointed again to that position in 2018. Jim is survived by his wife of 49 years, Barbara Mosher, children; Katherine and Emery Perkins, Perkasie, Pa. and Kenneth J. Bowell, Bristol, Ct., brother, Henry Bowell, Moorsville, NC and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Trinity Memorial Episcopal Church, 44 Main Street, Binghamton with the Reverend Glenn Mahaffey officiating. Family will receive friends for one hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to either the Trinity Memorial’s Organ Restoration Fund, 44 Main Street, Binghamton, NY 13905 or to Kalurah Shrine Transportation Fund, 625 Dickson Street, Endicott, NY 13760.
