Helen M. Draskovich Howe Helen M. Draskovich Howe, 89, passed on March 1, 2021. Surviving are her husband of over 68 years, Maurice, and her children Cynthia Kane, Dana (Richard A.) Keiser, David (Judy) Howe, and Susan (ret. Brig. Gen. Brett) McMullen; grandchildren; Benjamin (Jenny) Kane, Matthew (Emily) Kane, Elizabeth (Jonathan) Wickliffe, Richard C. (Janet) Keiser, Jacob (Becca) Howe, and Thomas McMullen; great-grandchildren Trent, Taela and Ryker Keiser, and Ilah Kane. She was predeceased by her parents Matthew and Mary (Stepetic) Draskovich, sisters Rose Thomas and Catherine Armstrong, and brothers William, Edward, Joseph, James (her twin), Clarence, and son-in-law Brad Kane. She was born in Kansas City, Kansas on Nov. 26, 1931 of Croatian heritage. Helen and Maurice were married on Oct. 4, 1952. They lived in Kansas City, Kansas where their children were born. Taking care of her home and family was Helen's primary pleasure. She touched many lives, always giving of herself and her famous baking/cooking to others. Helen enjoyed her hobby of ceramics and created many beautiful pieces. In Dec. 1963, Helen and her family moved to Endwell, and for the last 8+ years, have lived happily in the Town of Binghamton next to Dana and Rick. Helen and Maurice visited Japan, Canada, Mexico and many European nations several times. They were officers and chaperones of the International Youth Rally. Helen was named a Paul Harris Fellow. Her volunteer activities included many years with Mended Hearts, Meals On Wheels, and an active supporter of Boy and Girl Scouts. Many thanks to the compassionate care of her Health Aides, Lourdes Palliative Care and Lourdes Hospice. They made this difficult time more bearable, and allowed Mom to pass at home, surrounded by loved ones. Funeral services will be private.
