Frank Svenson
Frank O. Svenson, 80, lost his courageous battle with cancer March 17, 2023. Frank was a proud veteran of the United States Army serving in 82 nd Airborne as a paratrooper. After returning home he worked as a well-known mason in the area retiring from the Bricklayers and Allied Craftsman Union after 50 years as a master tradesman. He hands built much of the community in which we live. He was a hard worker who took extreme pride in his work. To know Frank was to know the strongest, toughest, meanest person on earth who had a heart of gold and who would do anything for his friends and family. There was no arguing with Frank who “knew it all” because he was intelligent and knowledgeable about many things. He was an avid car, gun and knife enthusiast and collector. In his early years he enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on motorcycles and cars, coaching his son’s hockey team, gambling and the bagpipes.
He was predeceased by his son Frank R. Svenson, parents Oscar and Frances Svenson, sister Gail O’Neil and the mother of his children, Susan R. Svenson. Frank is survived by beloved daughter Tracey Svenson-Gates, treasured grandchildren, Gabriella Gates and Nicholas Gates, sister and brother-in-law Diane and Tom Williams, many nieces and nephews, close friend Paul Kee and a large extended circle of friends. Frank's family wishes to thank the caring staff of Lourdes for their compassionate care especially Dr. Lee and Dr. McGinley.
