Edith M. Feinberg, 84, of Vestal, NY passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 18, 2016. She was born on October 23, 1931 in Brooklyn NY.  In her teens, she moved to Binghamton to live with relatives and graduated from Binghamton North High School.  In May 1952, she married Benjamin L. Feinberg and, a year later, they welcomed the first of their five children.  Edie always felt fortunate to become part of a large, loving and extended family and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and loyal friend.  She was predeceased by her husband Ben (1985), infant daughter Susan (1955) and daughter Sandra (2006).  Not only was Sandy her daughter, she was Edie's best friend and they shared a very special bond.  Edie is survived by her sons, Jeffrey (Tina), Richard Chip (Andrea), and Michael (Maribeth).  Edie was a caring grandmother and will be missed by her grandchildren, Nicholas (Melissa), Maxwell, Isabella, Ben, Alex and her great-grandchildren, Nolan and Chloe.  Edie enjoyed the love of her many cousins, nieces and nephews. In her later years, Edie was a resident of Castle Gardens, Woodland Manor, and, most recently, resided at Vestal Park Rehabilitation & Nursing Center; she formed many friendships at all three residences.  She had many interests throughout her life, enjoying learning, listening to music and studying current events.  Edie loved playing bingo, watching movies, and attending the theater. Our family wishes to extend our deepest gratitude to all those who compassionately cared for our mother, especially the nurses at Vestal Park.  We would especially like to thank Marion Zembek who was a constant source of love and companionship to Edie.  The kindness of friends such as Betty Martin and Kathy Pareska will always be remembered.  Dr. Ted Major and Dr. Julia Miller also shared a special place in our mother's heart. Edie will be remembered by her family and friends for her sweet smile, kindness and generosity. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, May 22, 2016 at Temple Concord, 9 Riverside Drive, Binghamton, NY.  Rabbi Barbara Goldman-Wartell will officiate.  The family will receive friends in the Temple Library from 10:00 – 11:00AM.  The funeral service will be held at 11:00AM in the Temple Sanctuary.  Internment to follow at Temple Israel-Riverside Cemetery, Conklin, NY.  Those wishing may direct memorial donations in the name of Edith Feinberg to the Temple Israel Building Fund, c/o JCC, 500 Clubhouse Road, Vestal, NY 13850, or to the charity of their choice.  Arrangements are with the Ernest H.
