Douglas Ticknor

Douglas L Ticknor, 69, passed away on April 13, 2025, in Johnson City, New York after an extended illness.

Doug is survived by his loving daughter, Shannon (Fred) Darrow, his grandson, Danny Hoover, brother Ken Ticknor, and sister Kathy Connelly, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. Doug was predeceased by the love of his life, Janet Ticknor. He was also predeceased by his mother, Cleo Bowen and father, Leroy Ticknor.

Doug spent most of his life in Whitney Point, NY and always cherished his time in his beloved hometown. After moving to Binghamton, NY, he joined the Broad Avenue North Presbyterian Church. There he developed an inspiring relationship with God and through that relationship he found his sobriety. He was very proud of that accomplishment and his family was very proud of him. Doug loved hunting and fishing, especially fishing with his grandson, Danny. He loved spending time in the outdoors and cherished the time spent with family and friends. He also loved to watch old western movies. He was a very loving and giving person, with a great sense of humor. He will be missed by all who knew him.

It was Doug's wish, that there not be services at this time. His family is planning a celebration of life which will be announced. Please check back for time and dates.
