Dietrich Dersch, 84, of Binghamton passed away on April 8, 2021, at Lourdes Hospital due to declining health. He was predeceased by parents, Fritz and Ilse Dersch, and great-nephew, Derek. He is survived by brothers, Eckhart (Helen), Reinald (Sushma), and sister, Marie (Larry) Holt, nephews Hans, Jurgen (Julia), Max (Tiffany), Karl, Mark (Christina), Erik (Maria), Jeremy Holt (Julie), and TJ (Stacey) Holt, niece Laurel (Jeff) Ciavarri, 13 grandnieces and grandnephews, and cousin Gisela (Werner) Priess and family in Germany. Dietrich, a 1956 graduate of North High, was employed by Azon, attended BCC, is a U.S. Army Veteran serving his country for two and one half years, was a Broome County Airport overnight service manager, 30-year employee of Town of Union (sr. engineering aide), and limousine driver for Coachmaster. He was proud of his family, loved his house and property and had an amazing memory of people, places and events. He also took great pride in his diligent research documenting neighborhood history. Funeral services will be private. Dietrich will be interred in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. A special ‘thank you’ is extended to the staff at Ross Memorial 3, for their care, kindness, and compassion.
