With sadness we announce the passing of our loving and devoted mother, Deborah Norman, on May 1, 2020. She was a friend to all whose lives she touched. Deborah was raised in West Virginia by her parents Ralph and Pamela. She is survived by her two sisters, Karen and Linda. Her legacy lives on through her three sons, Jack, Chris, and Joseph as well as her grandchildren, Reese, Keaton, Elon and Ryan. Deborah defined herself as a mother and teacher. After moving from West Virginia, she taught in the Binghamton Central School District before taking time to raise her three vibrant boys. Over the years, she continued to teach professionally – as a substitute teacher, nursery director at church, and private tutor – all while supporting her children’s academic careers. She nurtured a household that valued reading and intellectual curiosity. Deborah took pride in paying attention to the details of her children’s lives. She showed an unwavering commitment every day for them. If there was a school obligation, sporting event, musical, concert, or other activity, she was always there. She continued that habit as a grandmother. You could count on her for the big things and the little things. Those she met knew her as kind, loving, and witty. She will be missed. In lieu of a service, her memory can be honored with donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org. To forward condolences please visit www.demunn.com. Arrangements for the family are directed by the DeMunn Funeral Home.
