Sundown: January 4th 2023
DeVon “DV” Lamont Jenkins-Thompson has started his final journey of life. His family wants everyone to remember DeVon as the most loving son, brother, uncle and friend, who enjoyed 3 AM concerts in his bedroom. We could never forget his laugh or his love for the game of chess, He made his presence known wherever he entered a room. He loved his mama‘s home cooking (Biscetti). DeVon took to his soul MTS My Truthful Square. He would want everyone to remember his legacy and come together more as a family, to show forgiveness to one another and love on as if he still with us. DeVon would want everyone to look out for his one true love Zendaya. He will be greatly missed.
DeVon was predeceased by maternal grandmother Josephine Taylor with whom he had a loving relationship, maternal grandfather Joe Jenkins whose stories DeVon loved listening to about growing up down south from 1910, father Vincent DeVon Thompson, grandparents Harris and Ethel Thompson (Harris who is the former Reverend Thompson of Binghamton), uncle G. Alan G. Thompson, III, who called DeVon a high soul and a son he never had. They often enjoyed many conversations over the years. DeVon spoke of Uncle G. often and loved him eternally. He is also predeceased by many aunts, uncles and cousins as well as two very close cousins, Roscoe Caz Walker (they shared a brotherly love relationship a part of Devon was lost the day Caz started his own journey) and Basheim Richard Jenkins. Both lost their lives at a very young age. DeVon was also predeceased by Brian “BBoi” Argo.
DeVon is survived his mother Cheryle Mae Clark Jenkins, whose heart is torn over losing her firstborn son. DeVon was a Mama‘s boy. Hiss heartbeat on earth for his only child, his daughter Zendaya Mae Jenkins. Because DeVon left this earth too soon Zendaya’s heart now beats for her Daddy.
