David Hogan died Friday, May 3, 2024 at his home peacefully surrounded by his family. He was born in Winchester, New Hampshie on April 5, 1932 to James Patrick Hogan and Alice Mary Daly. David  graduated from Thayer High School in Winchester,  he then graduated from University of New Hampshire with a degree in mechanical engineering. While in college, he married his childhood sweetheart, Nadine Coombs Hogan in 1952. He joined ROTC in college, and then the Army Reserves and became a First Lieutenant, with postings in El Paso and Chicago, and was honorably discharged in June 1962. After leaving active service, he joined General Electric, where he spent his entire career working on flight control. He and his wife raised their two children on a beef cattle farm in Binghamton, NY. He retired from GE in 1992 which allowed for more time for him to enjoy his favorite outdoor activities like camping, fishing, hiking, biking, hunting, traveling, and cross-country skiing. Many of these activities he participated in with his multitude of friends, many of whom were his former colleagues from GE. It is said that he was the glue that kept all their neighbors and friends connected. In his retirement, he put his engineering skills to use volunteering at the Discovery Center in Binghamton.

He was predeceased by his loving wife Nadine in 2016, siblings, James Hogan, Alice Louise Hogan and William Hogan.  David is survived by his children, Dale Hogan and Walter and Sue Hogan, treasured grandchildren Greg, Erin, Krystal, Daryl, Mark, Kyrsten and Nichole, great-grandchildren, Ty, Briggs, Lottie, Ava, Sophie, Zephyr, Fredie, Emily, Trystan, Bennett, Evelyn, Caitlyn, and Addison. great-great-grandchildren Greyson, Dalylah, and Ezra. He leaves behind sister-in-law, Janet Reynolds and brother-in-law David Hadlock.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm, Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at the DeMunn Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 36 Conklin Avenue, Binghamton, New York. Family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until time of services. A funeral luncheon will follow at a restaurant to be determined.   David will be interred alongside Nadine in Evergreen Cemetery, Winchester, New Hampshire, In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in David’s name by be made to the Discovery Center, 16 Morgan Rd, Binghamton, NY 13903  or online at www.thediscoverycenter.org.
