Curtis Murray

Curtis “Zip” Murray, 81, of Binghamton, NY went peacefully home to be with the Lord Thursday, June 9, 2022. He is survived by his mother, Veola “Dimp,” his wife of 56 years, Marold “Mel,” and their children, Lori, David, Lowell, Richard, Craig, Curtis Christopher, Nakia, and Jamal. He is also survived by his siblings, Ice Mae, Leon, Eurma, Dorothy, Aundra, Gregory, Tracy, and Patricia; as well as extended family, Lyndsey, Adriele, Kissely, and Autumn. He is predeceased by his father Ernest, his daughter Cheryl, and his siblings, Ernest Jr, Eunice, and Lorraine. He was blessed with 33 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He had a fulfilling career as a member of the Carpenters Union Local #281/Northeast Regional Council of Carpenters. In addition he was the Worshipful Master of the Chenango Masonic Lodge #39 for many years. Also he was the Worshipful Master of the Eastern Stars Sheba Chapter #3 where he and Mel were very active. He was well known for his love of travel across the country to visit family. Funeral services will be private. Memorial services will be held 2:00 o'clock pm, Thursday, June 30, 2022 at the Conklin Avenue First Baptist Church, 91 Baldwin Street, Binghamton.
