Cubyson Andrews, born on November 18, 1946, in Guyana, peacefully departed this life on September 11, 2025. A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, he rose to the rank of Sergeant, carrying with him the discipline, strength, and deep sense of camaraderie that would shape every chapter of his life.
After completing his education and earning an associate's degree, Cubyson devoted himself to the field of healthcare. As a Certified Nursing Assistant at Willow Point Nursing Home, he brought compassion, dedication, and a quiet strength to every shift-touching countless lives with his warmth and care. Cubyson was a man of many passions and deep soul. He found joy in life's simple pleasures-fishing by quiet waters, dancing to his favorite records, and always stepping out in style, with a signature flair for sharp clothes, stylish hats, and fresh sneakers. His culinary talents were well known, especially his legendary fried pork chops and Caribbean cuisine, which brought comfort and delight to all who gathered at his table.
His life was grounded in faith. A devoted churchgoer, he drew strength from his spiritual community and built lasting bonds through regular worship and fellowship. His walk with God was a guiding light through both life's challenges and triumphs.
Above all, Cubyson was a devoted father and family man. He is survived by his loving children: Regina Andrews, Lameeka Askew, Renae Dyette, Sharon Andrews, and Cubyson Oxley. His legacy lives on in his many cherished grandchildren, who were the pride of his life. He also leaves behind his beloved siblings: Vincent Andrews, Doreen Andrews, Rosalind Andrews, and Jewel Leacock. Cubyson's later years were marked by peace, sobriety, and fulfillment. In retirement, he embraced each day with gratitude-traveling, spending time with family, and living with a zest that inspired everyone around him.
Though he has left this earthly world, Cubyson's spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His legacy is one of love, faith, humor, and-let's be honest-a bit of stubbornness that made him uniquely unforgettable. He was preceded in death by his mother, Eugene Andrews; his father, Cubyson Maxwell; his sisters, Carroll Andrews and Lorraine Andrews; and his beloved son, Nigel Andrews. Cubyson Andrews's journey was one of resilience, love, and purpose. He will be missed beyond words but remembered always-with laughter, fondness, and deep, enduring love.
