Catherine Williams

Beloved mother, grandmother and sister, Catherine "Cat" Katrina Williams, 84, transitioned to her eternal space July 2, 2023. Cat was born May 12, 1939, in Brooklyn to Corrine Thomas and Matthew Kaiser. She attended schools in the Rockaway area. Cat enjoyed taking care of children, people could always depend on her. She also worked at Studely Paper Company for many years. She was an esteemed member of the “Circle of Special Ladies”, devoted friends who loved playing cards. Their game of choice being Pitty Pat. Cat enjoyed cooking. Her first daughter was born 1955, her second surprise daughter was born 22 years later. Cat was well loved in her community both here in Binghamton and back home in Rockaway.  Family and friends will always remember her as a force to reckoned with.

She was predeceased by her husband Wilbert Beaver,  great grandmother, Eula Lee Fearnot who was responsible for her early upbringing, her mother Corrine Thomas, daughter Sheila Fearnot, grandson, Deshon Southerland and sister Dorothy Ann Fearnot. Cat is survived by her daughter Shanequa Beaver, treasured grandchildren; Donal Southerland, Shaniyah Way, Shazaria Beaver. Shalayia Crawford-Beaver, Shaierra Beaver-Ash and Shakylah Beaver-Pierre and six great grandchildren. She leaves behind sister and brother-in-law, Arlene  and Joseph Echols, aunt Mary Fearnot, many nieces and nephews and a large extended family.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm, Thursday, July 13, 2023, at the DeMunn Funeral Home, 36 Conklin Avenue, Binghamton.  Family will receive friends from 12:00 pm, until the time of services. To forward condolences please visit www.demunn.com.
