Bruce Dancesia, born on July 5, 1949 in Binghamton, NY, was a man whose laughter was contagious and whose heart was as vast as the outdoors he so loved. His spirit was both adventurous and thoughtful, and he made every day a new opportunity to bring joy into the lives of those around him. Bruce was a proud Vietnam veteran, a Purple Heart recipient, member of the 101st Airborne Bravo Company, a dedicated employee at IBM for many years, and a revered member of the Johnson City Sportsman Club. Yet, these accomplishments paled in comparison to the love he held for his family, especially his grandchildren, whom he considered his biggest achievement. To him, watching his granddaughter dance was the epitome of joy.
Bruce was a funny and loving individual who left an indelible imprint on every heart he touched. He was a steadfast friend, a doting father, and a supportive brother. He is survived by his son Todd Dancesia (Laura), his daughter Carrie Howes (John), his brother Toby Dancesia (Yolanda), his grandchildren Caleb and Emma Dancesia, and Leah and Bobby Howes, and many nieces and nephews. Bruce was predeceased by his parents John and Theresa Dancesia and his beloved wife, Christine.
Bruce's legacy will live on in the love he shared, the laughter he spread, and the memories he created with his friends and family. He will be remembered not only for his humorous and loving nature, but also for his adventurous spirit and his thoughtful personality. Bruce's life was a testament to the power of love, the strength of family, and the importance of a well-timed joke.
Memorial Service will be Friday July 10, 2026 at 5:00 pm at DeMunn Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 36 Conklin Avenue Binghamton, New York 13903. Family will welcome friends from 2:00 pm until time of services.
We invite all who knew and loved Bruce to share their memories of him, upload photos, and celebrate his life on his memorial page.
