Betty Jones

Our beloved mother and grandmother, Betty Jane Jones, 93, passed away January 4, 2022. Betty was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed many summers at the family cottage at Cayuga Lake with family and friends. Betty worked at downtown Fowler’s Department Store and after raising her children at Henry Wilson Jewelers. She had volunteered over 500 hours at Lourdes Hospital. She was an active member of Conklin Forks United Methodist Church for over 65 years. She was predeceased by her husband Lester, son, Edwin, parents, Sadie and Raymond Harvey, siblings, her twin Richard Harvey and Edwin Harvey. Betty is survived by children; Dianne Wharton, Vienna, WV, Brian and Mary Jones, Doylestown, PA, Denise and Martin Schilling, Binghamton, treasured grandchildren, Terra and Haydn Adams, Matthew and Jaclyn Jones, Danielle and Phillip Nelson, Caylene Schilling and John Gardinor, Jason and Trisha Jones, Andrew and Desiree Jones, Michelle and Jake Miller, Rhonda Wharton and Debbie (Jerry) Welch, 19 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Clair and Betty Jones and several nieces and nephews. Betty was lovingly cared for by her children and caregivers, Camdyn, Caylene, Penney, Jen, Amy, Patty, Sarah and Kerry. Betty’s family would also like to express their gratitude to Lourdes Hospice. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, January 8, 2022 at the DeMunn Funeral Home, 36 Conklin Avenue, Binghamton with Matthew Jones and the Reverend David Piatt officiating. Interment will follow services in Kattelville Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 3:00 until 7:00 pm, Friday, January 7, 2022 at the DeMunn Funeral Home.
