Betty Deinhardt Smith, 85, died peacefully on Friday, February 11, 2011 at Binghamton General Hospital. She was predeceased by her first husband, Fred Deinhardt, and her brother, Raymond Gross. Cherished by her entire family, she is survived by her husband, Robert Smith of Binghamton; her children Linda (Richard) Elliott of North Carolina; Carol Deinhardt of Rochester; Anita (Salvatore) Manuele of Rochester; Steven (Marianne) Deinhardt of Binghamton; and Martin Deinhardt of Whitney Point; her grandchildren June Elliott, Christine Manuele, Catherine (Daniel) Kwiecien, Fred (Amanda) Deinhardt, Jennifer (Jeremy) Waddell, Steven Deinhardt, Bryant Deinhardt, and Lisa (Chris) Rosengrant; and her great grandchildren Natalie Deinhardt, Ryan and Evan Waddell, and Tripp Rosengrant; her sister, Doris Adams of Endwell and her children Paul (Jean) Adams and Nancy Adams; Robert Smith's children Ronald, and Richard (Lori) of Binghamton and grandchildren Amanda, Mindy, Heather, and Austin; numerous nephews and nieces; and a multitude of friends including her colleagues from Broome County Government, the Order of the Eastern Star, and her church family.
The family extends special thanks to Dr. DiMenna and Dr. Ramanujan for their compassionate care.
No calling hours will be observed. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, February 16 at 10 a.m. at Fairview United Methodist Church, 254 Robinson Street, Binghamton, New York, 13904. Rev. Jan Clark and Rev. Nancy Adams will officiate.  In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to Fairview United Methodist Church.
